The Achy Breakey Dress has a little retro flair with a touch of modern finesse. Its square neckline and adorable floral print are flattering on any body type—not to mention its dangerously flirty, fitted bodice.
LOVE.

My WSS event was a success! Super fun! My outfit was a hit. So was my new hair. I was also proud of my recent stint at Bar Method. I just realized how DC I’ve become. I love it.
I didn’t win any prizes and I got pretty ridiculously drunk. I ran into a girl my fiance used to date and I drunkenly, embarrassingly, slurringly flaunted my ring in front of her until her friend pointed it out. Then I acted all “oh this beautiful thing my fiance gave me you mean?!”
Hilarious. Can’t believe how cray cray I get when I drink too much.

I’m going to the Washington State Society Potlatch dinner for the 3rd year in a row tomorrow. Only this time I will be wearing a skin tight color blocked tube dress. I’ve been starving and working out for 4 days in anticipation. I tried on the dress last night and it’s totally doable!
I’m afraid to leave the house wearing it though. Kids… it’s really tight. The boy seemed unsure of whether or not I should wear it (he didn’t see it on me, he only saw the picture of a gross model wearing it). I assured him that the model’s 5’10, 105 pound frame made the dress look scary, he said she was gross. At 5’5, 140, I make it look gooood. Curves are cute… get with it America!
Anyways, I told him that I was going to wear it anyways because 1. I bought it and it wants to be worn 2. One day he was going to knock me up and I would get fat and stretchy and my body will be ruined forever and skin tight dresses will cease to exist from my wardrobe… 3. I’m the boss.
As I do when any big fancy event is coming, I planned my outfit carefully. Ignore the too-skinny:

I think it’s going to be fun. I might post the results. Maybe might.

If this doesn’t make your pee-pee move… then I’m sorry but you’re asexual.
This girl and I would be fast friends. Though she has more balls than me. I made my friend immediately take my dougie off the internets when he posted it. Unforunately I have jobs to get in life. While her dancing probably helps her get jobs— it makes me look like a partying slurt.

Milestone in my life. I’m an official bike addict. I’m almost mad at myself that I never got this into it! I think my problem was that I didn’t want responsibility for a bike. My biggest pet peeve in life is having things lost or especially stolen. I HATE when things are stolen from me. I’m like… really world? Really?! So I have a massive fear of owning something as cool as a bike with a cool bike lock and still having it stolen. It happens!
I joined Capital Bikeshare and I’m a total junkie right off the bat. It’s $75 for an annual membership. Then the first 30 minutes of every ride are free. Most places I need to go will be less than 30 minutes! The next 30 minutes are just $1.50. That’s the cost of a one way bus ride. I realized that this has eliminated my fear. Once I drop the bike off at a station and lock it in, it’s out of my hands. I don’t need to think about it ever again. If my plans change and I end up Metroing to meet a friend for drinks? No problem, no bike to leave anywhere. If I decide I’m too tired and don’t want to bike home that night? No worries. It’s raining? It’s too hot? Pinched for time? It ain’t no thang, there’s no personal bike to have responsibility for. The best thing is, the bikes I want will always be parked a 4 minute walk from my house in the morning. All I need is my helmet. This is perfect!
I also started thinking about my savings for the year. Round trip on the train for a day is $4.30, round trip on the bus is $3 a day. Bikeshare’s $75 divided by 12 months is $6.25. So almost free. 20 cents a day. The energy use? My own calories. I will gladly give those away to get where I need to go. Talk about the most efficient use of energy! So to Metro to work 22 work days a month is $95. To bus to work 22 work days a month is $66. I do it for $6 and 3500 calories (which is a pound!). This thinking just opened a whole new idea for me! I could lose 3 pounds by beach week from biking! Sweet.
No more timing buses. No more checking Metro schedules. No worrying about where to put my bike. I’m in it this summer. Only… I wonder how I will feel in July at 8am when it’s already 90 degrees with 95% humidity. Maybe then I will be wishing for the air conditioned bus. Maybe that’s when I will want to sit on the bus and listen to the people in the back yell about how the evil white people are taking over the city. But probably not.
